Eijaz Khan on childhood traumas
In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Eijaz Khan recalls challenges he faced as a kid. He said, ” Joh rishto se maine seekha haina, sabse baadi seekh yeh hai….. aapka aapne aap se joh rishta hota haina woh sabse important hota hai. Sabse important. Mere aise bohot saare traumas bohot heavy word hai but bohot saare aise challenges the bachpan se jinko maine kabhi address nahi kiya, bachpan me, life me, jinko kabhi address nahi kiya, na heal karne ki koshish ki. Humare daaur me hum itna sochte nahi the. Kabhi humne introspect nahi kiya ya kabhi humari umar ne introspect nahi kiya.” (The biggest lesson I have learned from relationships is that the relationship you have with yourself is the most important one. The most important. I have faced many challenges since childhood—‘traumas’ might be a heavy word, but there were many struggles that I never addressed, whether in childhood or later in life. I never tried to heal from them. Back in our time, we didn’t think about these things so much. We never really introspected, nor did our age or generation encourage introspection.)
Eijaz Khan on playing characters
“Hum dusre kirdaar play karne me aur escape karne me busy hote rahe, unn kirdaaro ke saath humara rishta gehera hota gaya humne zindagi me woh kirdaar hi bana diye aur zindagi ko bhul gaye. Koshish kar raha hu zindagi me ab, I don’t want to bleed on anyone else. 2 log hote hai rishte mein, puri zimmedaari main nahi le raha hu, main apni zimmedaari le raha hu. Aur main zimmedaari apni galtiyo ko lunga, tabhi main accept karunga, address karunga aur heal karunga.” (We kept ourselves busy playing different characters and escaping, and as our connection with those characters deepened, we started embodying them in real life, forgetting to actually live. Now, I am trying to truly live. I don’t want to bleed on anyone else. In a relationship, there are two people—I am not taking full responsibility, but I am taking responsibility for my part. And only when I take responsibility for my mistakes can I accept them, address them, and heal from them.)
